Warehouse General Labor box Sorter - 2nd Shift

Job Summary

As a Box Sorter, you will be responsible for manually processing and sorting boxes to meet PLA's quality standards and production goals. This role involves breaking down, inspecting, stickering, and palletizing boxes. $15.50 per hour with guaranteed progression: a 50‑cent increase at 90 days, 1 year, and annually thereafter for a total of 5 years.

• Evening Shift: 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm (Monday through Friday)

• Break down boxes that are not received in a broken‑down state.
• Inspect boxes for damage and assess their suitability for reuse.
• Slicken boxes acceptable for reuse by covering their barcodes.
• Palletize sorted boxes efficiently by size.
• Meet or exceed daily production requirements, with a standard expectation of at least one pallet per hour.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area throughout the shift.
• Comply with all PLA policies and procedures, as well as federal and state safety rules.
• Assist with other duties as assigned to support and improve overall team operations.

• Stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, and lift for extended periods throughout the shift.
• Repeatedly handle, lift, and move boxes of varying sizes and weights.
• Good manual dexterity and hand‑eye coordination for breaking down, inspecting, and stickering boxes.
• Hear and understand verbal instructions and safety alarms in a warehouse environment.
• Good vision for inspecting boxes and performing sorting tasks accurately.

• Primarily work in a warehouse environment. May be exposed to dust, fluctuating temperatures (hot and cold), and moderate noise levels. Steel‑toed boots and personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required.
