Position: LPN/LVN - Urgent Care - Full time

Responsibilities

The role involves covering clinical offices based on operational need, assisting in patient examination and treatment, measuring vital signs, recording patient information, performing minor office procedures, providing patient education, and maintaining infection control and aseptic techniques. The position requires working at varied locations.

  • Cooperate in cross‑training to ensure coverage at all times for all offices.
  • Interview patients and measure vital signs (pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, height) and record information on the chart.
  • Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, assist physicians with procedures, and clean/sterilize equipment after use.
  • Explain procedures and treatments to patients and families to gain cooperation and understanding.
  • Administer prescribed medication orally or by injection (subcutaneous, intramuscular, intradermal) and document timing, dosage, and route on the chart; observe and report adverse reactions.
  • Perform treatments and routine laboratory tests under the supervision of a physician, allied health professional, or RN.
  • Initiate intravenous lines, add or discontinue IV fluids under direction of a physician or allied health professional (IV certified).
  • Perform EKG, pulse oximetry, inhalation treatments, and operate other certified equipment.
  • Travel between departments and facilities as needed to meet coverage requirements; inventory and order medical supplies.
  • Operate within the LVN scope of practice and Clinic policies and procedures.
  • Ensure expired sample medications and patient supplies are discarded upon expiration.
  • Maintain current California LVN licensure and BLS certification.
Hours

Monday – Friday: 8:00 AM – 9:00 PM. Weekends and holidays: 8:30 AM – 9:30 PM.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required; current California licensed LVN; graduate of an accredited LVN program.
  • Two years’ experience preferred working as an LVN in a multi‑specialty group setting.
  • Current California LVN license; current AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (BLS) certificate; IV certification required.
  • ACLS certification preferred.
