Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Research Scientist, Data Scientist
The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of California, Riverside invites applications for a full-time Postdoctoral Scholar position in power and energy systems. The initial appointment is for two years, with the possibility of renewal based on performance and availability of funding. The successful candidate will conduct advanced research with an emphasis on distributed energy resources, vehicle-grid integration, power system optimization, and data-driven analytics.
Primary responsibilities include developing analytical models and optimization algorithms, conducting simulations, supporting laboratory and field demonstration projects, collaborating with academic and industry partners, preparing technical reports and high-quality research publications, and contributing to the development of competitive research proposals.
To be considered for this position, applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering or a closely related field by the time of appointment.
Preferred qualifications include a strong record of quality, originality, and impact in prior research accomplishments, along with specialized expertise in one or more relevant areas such as analytical modeling and optimization, data analytics, artificial intelligence, or experimental and field research in power and energy systems. Candidates will be evaluated holistically on their demonstrated ability to conduct independent research, publish scholarly work in top-tier venues, and collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary research teams.
Postdoc salary ranges from $69,073-$82,836 annually, depending on experience upon start. The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by experience level. See Postdoctoral Scholar Salary Scale Table 23.
