Residential HVAC & Energy Sales Manager About the RoleIce Energy is looking for a Residential HVAC & Energy Sales Manager to help launch our new residential energy storage product, the Ice Cub in Riverside, California by driving sales. The Ice Cub qualifies for a generous utility incentive which makes the payback attractive.
This is not a cold-calling or door-to-door sales position. Ice Energy will provide qualified homeowner leads generated through our outreach partners. These homeowners will have already expressed initial interest in the Ice Cub and will be located within the Riverside Public Utilities service territory.
The Residential Sales Manager will take ownership of these opportunities from initial follow-up through signed customer agreement. The role will educate homeowners on the Ice Cub and the utility incentive, evaluate whether their home and HVAC system are a good fit, explain the expected savings, and guide the customer through the decision-making process.
Once a sale is made, the Residential Sales Manager will coordinate a clean handoff to the project management and installation team.
This is an opportunity to play a key role in launching a new residential energy storage product and helping establish the sales process that can ultimately be expanded into additional markets.
What You’ll DoLead Management & Customer Outreach- Follow up quickly with qualified homeowner leads provided by Ice Energy.
- Contact homeowners by phone, text, and email to schedule consultations.
- Maintain consistent follow-up throughout the sales process.
- Manage leads and opportunities through the company CRM.
- Track conversion rates, sales activity, and pipeline.
- Conduct phone, virtual, and in-home consultations with prospective customers.
- Explain the Ice Cub technology and value proposition in clear, homeowner-friendly language.
- Help customers understand how the Ice Cub works with their home’s air conditioning system.
- Explain Riverside Public Utilities incentives, and expected utility bill savings.
- Review basic HVAC system information and coordinate additional technical evaluation when required.
- Address homeowner questions and objections related to cost, installation, HVAC compatibility, utility rates, and expected savings.
- Guide qualified homeowners through the sales process and obtain signed customer agreements to close the sale.
- Ensure required customer and property information is collected before contract execution.
- Coordinate with technical and operations teams when additional HVAC or site evaluation is needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation for each sale.
- Provide a clear handoff of completed sales to the project manager responsible for installation.
- Stay engaged as needed to ensure a positive transition from sales into project delivery.
- Help refine the residential Ice Cub sales process as the Riverside program scales.
- Identify common homeowner questions, objections, and reasons for lost opportunities.
- Provide feedback to marketing, operations, and management on lead quality and customer response.
- Help develop sales materials, scripts, follow-up processes, and best practices.
- Support the growth of the program to hundreds of residential installations.
- 3-7 years of experience in residential sales, home services, HVAC, solar, energy efficiency, or a related field.
- Demonstrated ability to convert qualified leads into closed sales.
- Strong consultative selling and relationship-building skills.
- Comfortable speaking directly with homeowners and explaining technical products in simple terms.
- Strong follow-up and pipeline management skills.
- Comfortable conducting in-home customer meetings.
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving program where processes will continue to evolve.
- Residential HVAC sales experience.
- Experience selling solar, batteries, generators, energy efficiency, roofing, or other residential home improvements.
