Level of Supervision: General Direction

• Guard and protect university and library property with high intrinsic or monetary value.
• Respond to and follow up on all safety/incident issues within library buildings.
• Act as a deterrent to criminal activity by routinely patrolling library buildings.
• Work a flexible shift schedule:
  Sunday 12:45 p.m.–9:15 p.m.;
  Monday through Thursday 3:15 p.m.–12:15 a.m.; cover day shifts as needed.
• During the last week of instruction and finals, work extended hours and consecutive days, including graveyard shifts.
• Complete incident reports, including hypothetical scenarios during the interview process.

• Current U.S. work authorization; the university is unable to sponsor or transfer employment visas.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, nights, graveyard shifts, and extended hours.
• Physical capability to patrol and respond quickly to incidents.
• Compliance with university policies, collective bargaining agreements, and applicable federal, state, and local directives.

The expected pay scale for this position is up to $26.28 per hour. Salary offers are based on education, licensure, certifications, experience, and other business needs. Eligible employees receive standard university benefits consistent with other staff positions.
