The installer may train new hires, supervise on-site crews, and coordinate with supervisors on material needs. Effective communication with project managers and other team members is essential, along with attending project meetings as required.
Journeyman Installer Responsibilities Installing fire sprinkler systems according to blueprints, specifications, and local building codes. This involves laying out piping, installing sprinkler heads, valves, pumps, and other components.
Adhering to safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries during installation, maintenance, and repair activities. This includes using appropriate personal protective equipment and following safe work practices.
Collaborating with other tradespeople, such as plumbers, electricians, and general contractors, as part of construction or renovation projects involving fire sprinkler systems.
Maintaining accurate records of all installations, inspections, tests, maintenance activities, and repairs performed on fire sprinkler systems. This documentation is essential for compliance with regulatory requirements and for future reference.
Train new hires as needed.
As needed, supervise or help supervise on-site crew to ensure a complete and code compliant installation. Coordinate with supervisor as needed
Notify supervisor of material needed to complete job within ample notice as requested by Supervisor Conduct fire sprinkler inspections with local inspector to ensure installation adheres to both AHJ’s standards and NFPA 13D & 13R requirements.
Identify, track, manage, resolve, and communicate project issues during construction including documenting site observations and managing applicable construction punch list to resolution.
Active communication with Project Manager, Supervisor, and Field Operations manager.
Attend on-site project meetings where required or requested by clients. This includes weekly coordination meetings.
Any other tasks deemed necessary by TDI Management
Skills and Qualifications Journeyman Sprinkler Fitter Card Preferred.
Fire Sprinkler installation experience required.
Active driver license required.
Adequate communication skills.
Familiar with NFPA 13D & 13R.Develop professional expertise by complying with company policies and procedures.
Exercises judgement within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
