Position Summary
Entry level Maintenance Technician. Focus on changing forklift batteries. Install, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, physical structures, plumbing, and electrical systems while following all regulatory and company safety standards, policies, and procedures. Training will be provided to acquire the skills necessary to grow within the maintenance team.
Work ScheduleWednesday - Saturday, 3:00pm - 1:30am.
Pay Range$21.15 - $36.25 per hour.
Key Duties and Responsibilities- Perform basic preventative maintenance tasks and minor repairs on all mechanical assets impacting the operation of the facility, physical structure, and exterior grounds.
- At automated sites, perform basic preventative maintenance tasks on proximity switches, photoelectric sensors, pressure switches, push buttons and associated testing equipment.
- Perform basic inspections of refrigeration system.
- Perform basic preventative maintenance tasks on material handling equipment per manufacturer and company guidelines to ensure continual and safe operation.
- Other tasks as assigned.
- Operate power tools, cutting torch, and other welding apparatus to cut or join metal parts.
- Utilize onsite motorized lift and rental equipment as needed, while operating, inspecting, calibrating, and maintaining equipment.
- Completion of trade school courses or minimal experience in building maintenance, material handling equipment maintenance, or refrigeration maintenance (ammonia, Freon, and/or CO₂).
Preferred. - Capable of completing routine preventative maintenance with instructions and supervision.
- Fully proficient with and capable of operating power and hand tools.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to interact and communicate with all levels of the facility.
- Problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multi‑task and prioritize workload with demonstrated organizational skills.
- Ability to work in temperatures as low as ‑20°F (‑25°C) in cold storage sites or up to 100°F (37°C) in dry storage sites while wearing company‑provided personal protective equipment and freezer gear.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs (23kg); weight may be more dependent upon facility.
- Ability to work a flexible work schedule and shift, including weekends.
- Comfortable with various noise levels; some locations may be loud.
- Demonstrated knowledge and practice of Working at Height (if required by location).
