Lead Carpenter – Facilities Services Maintenance Department
Reporting to the Skilled Crafts Trades Supervisor, the Lead Carpenter performs journey‑level carpentry work related to construction, repair, restoration, and installation of building structures, flooring, furniture, etc. The role includes overseeing critical day‑to‑day operations during the supervisor’s absence, providing technical expertise and training to team members, operating and training others on equipment, methods, and materials used throughout the UCR campus, and responding to emergency situations during or after hours to resolve immediate concerns and correct safety issues.
The Lead Carpenter must maintain a positive attitude, communicate effectively with colleagues, supervisors, staff, faculty, and students.
- Current work authorization in the United States; sponsorship is not available.
- Journey‑level carpentry experience performing construction, repair, and restoration work.
- Ability to operate carpentry equipment and supervise staff.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Experience resolving emergency situations and troubleshooting safety concerns.
Hourly wage range $46.71 – $52.58, depending on education, licensure, certifications, experience, and business needs.
