We are seeking a professional Facility Maintenance Mechanic who is responsible and specializes in facility troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair, including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, locksmith, and performing assigned facility inspections.
The Facility Maintenance Mechanic position is located at our Lake Mathews Facility in Riverside, CA. In this position, you will perform general facility basic troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair including carpentry, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and locksmithing. You will exercise your specialized skills and job knowledge in areas of operations, techniques, tools, materials, and/or equipment to assemble and install office furniture, cubicle partitions, relocating office contents, including furnishings.
There will be times you’ll need to assist in special event set up and breakdown, including tables, chairs, room dividers, and other aesthetic components.
Heavy tasks require the ability to regularly lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds, with the intermittent need to manage materials and equipment weighing up to 100 pounds. The Facility Maintenance Mechanic must safely push, pull, turn, and position parts, assemblies, equipment, and tools weighing up to 100 pounds with assistance.
Respond to work order requests, using MS Office and Share Drive to create, assign, track, maintain service records, and complete work orders on a timely basis, and perform facility inspections and report conditions.
When necessary, use judgment in interpreting and adapting guidelines such as policies, regulations, precedents, and work directions for application to specific cases or problems. The decision regarding what needs to be made depends upon the analysis of the subject, phase, or issues involved, and the chosen course of action may have to be selected from many alternatives. The work involves treating a variety of conventional problems, questions, or situations in conformance with established criteria.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Performs general facility basic troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair including carpentry, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and locksmithing.
- Performance required periodic facility safety and regulatory inspections.
- Prepares appropriate forms and/or purchases equipment, parts, and tools.
- Responds, initiates, and tracks daily Facility ticket requests.
- Assembles and installs office furniture, office equipment, electrical and communication components, and hangs pictures and office boards.
- Fabricates and installs seismic bracing and other miscellaneous materials as needed.
- Performs special events setup and breakdown including tables, chairs, room dividers, extension cords, sound system equipment, and other aesthetic components for large and small events.
- Inspect and verify emergency supplies and first aid equipment.
- Transports supplies, parts, and equipment.li>
- Ensures proper use of tools and assigned machinery.
- Establish and maintain an effective working relationship with building and vendors.
- Keep stock of inventory.
- Collect and prepare e-waste for pick-up.
- Documents work performance and materials procurement as directed, using MS Office and a work order system.
- Assigned operational tasks may be typically expected of a facility maintenance professional.
- Emergency and Stand‑by Service:
Employees in this position may be required to work off‑shift hours and/or stand‑by service to address operational needs and emergencies as required. - Performs other related Facility Maintenance Mechanic job duties as required.
