Position Title
Commercial Tire Service Technician
Position SummaryThe Commercial Tire Service Technician is responsible for the inspection, repair, replacement, mounting, balancing, and servicing of commercial truck, industrial, agricultural, and off-the-road tires. This position requires safe operation of service vehicles and equipment while delivering exceptional customer service both in-shop and on roadside service calls.
Key Responsibilities- Perform tire mounting, dismounting, balancing, rotating, and repairs on commercial vehicles and equipment
- Conduct roadside service calls in a safe, professional, and timely manner
- Inspect tires, wheels, and related components for wear, damage, and proper inflation
- Operate service trucks and equipment safely and in compliance with company and DOT regulations
- Complete work orders, service documentation, and customer signatures accurately
- Maintain clean and organized work areas, service trucks, and equipment
- Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA guidelines
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, managers, and customers regarding service needs and job status
- Assist with inventory control and proper handling of tires and materials
- Participate in after-hours emergency roadside service rotation as required
- Promote a positive company image through professionalism and customer service
- Previous tire service or mechanical experience preferred, but willing to train motivated candidates
- Valid driver’s license required; commercial driver’s license (CDL) is a plus
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong work ethic and dependable attendance
- Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read and complete work orders and service paperwork accurately
- Strong commitment to safety and customer satisfaction
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull heavy tires and equipment regularly
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in various weather conditions for extended periods
- Ability to safely operate jacks, air tools, compressors, and heavy equipment
- Must be able to respond to roadside service calls at various times, including nights and weekends if required
- Indoor and outdoor work environments
- Exposure to varying weather conditions, heavy equipment, and moving vehicles
