Job SummaryThe Golf Course Irrigation Technician is responsible for repairing and maintaining golf course irrigation systems.
Duties And Responsibilities- Install irrigation systems and ensure that systems function efficiently.
- Repair and maintain valves, including quick coupler valves, trace electrical components, install and initialize clocks and timers, locate existing zones and valves, and perform pump repairs.
- Repair and maintain sprinklers, including quick coupler inserts.
- Adhere to the Company’s safety policy and ensure public safety during irrigation maintenance or repairs.
- Minimum of 1 year experience working with golf course irrigation systems.
- Strong work ethic.
- Effective oral communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast‑paced environment.
- Irrigation certification a plus.
- Heavy lifting up to 50 pounds.
- At least 18 years old (21 if operating company‑provided vehicles). Must have a valid driver’s license for Bright View fleet vehicles.
- Strong stamina and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
- Ability to safely operate landscaping equipment (mowers, trimmers, blowers, edgers).
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, twist, stand, walk continuously, and perform repetitive motions for extended periods.
- Manual labor with hand tools (shovels, rakes).
- Use of personal protective equipment (safety shoes, high‑visibility clothing, hand/eye/hearing/head protection).
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends or holidays if needed.
- Maintain required medications for known allergic reactions.
- Work outdoors/indoors in moderate to extreme weather (over 100°F, below 32°F, varying humidity).
- Extended periods of direct sunlight.
- Work near automotive traffic, bodies of water, fumes, dust, mechanical and/or electrical hazards.
- Exposure to loud noise, allergens (pollen, ragweed), insects (bees, spiders), reptiles (lizards, snakes).
$20,000–$24,000 per year.
