Reporting to the Skilled Crafts Trades Supervisor in the Facilities Services Maintenance Department, the Lead Carpenter performs journey‑level work related to the construction, repair, restoration, and installation of building structures, flooring, furniture, etc. The Lead Carpenter oversees critical day‑to‑day operations in the supervisor's absence and acts as a subject‑matter expert who provides leadership to team members. The Lead Carpenter also operates and trains others on equipment, methods, and materials used to perform various carpentry projects throughout the University of California, Riverside campus.
This position may work independently or as part of a team and responds to emergency situations during or after hours to resolve immediate concerns and correct safety issues. The Lead Carpenter maintains a positive attitude for the team and communicates effectively with colleagues, supervisors, staff, faculty, and students.
The full salary range for the Lead Carpenter is $46.71 - $52.58 per hour. Salary offers are based on education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.
Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. The University is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.
