Facilities Technician
Responsibilities- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain various building systems.
- Operate mandatory equipment to perform preventative maintenance, minor repairs, and property cleanliness.
- Perform maintenance and minor repair activities on interior and exterior property areas, including painting, drywall, parking lots, sidewalks, plumbing repairs, drain clearances, lighting, flooring, and roof.
- Assist with maintaining inventory systems, records, files, material safety data sheets, supplies, equipment, and tools.
- Repair, modify, and relocate retail merchandising units as required.
- Assist in the setup of events and the installation or take‑down of mall décor.
- Perform interior and exterior custodial duties such as sweeping, vacuuming, steam cleaning, garbage collection, compactor operation, and landscaping.
- Assist with snow removal by vehicle or hand when applicable.
- Adhere to GGP’s Safety, Health, and Environment Policy and perform all duties in compliance with applicable standards, policies, and regulatory guidelines, including OSHA.
- Engage in training and continuing education to develop the knowledge, skills, and competencies required for safe work performance.
- Assist with emergency planning and response in coordination with the management team.
- Perform shift work, evenings, weekends, and emergencies as required.
- Provide assistance to and interact with the public and tenants as requested.
- Execute other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 2‑3 years of experience in building maintenance or a related field.
- Valid Driver’s License required.
- Clear communication skills with management, employees, tenants, and external contacts.
- Ability to read and interpret documents, plans, schematic drawings, and instructions.
- Self‑starter with the ability to work independently.
- Graduation from a 2‑year technical school or possession of a trade certificate is a plus.
- Completion of OSHA General Industries 10‑Hour course is a plus.
- Familiarity with, or willingness to learn, Microsoft Outlook (email).
- Bilingual language skills are welcomed.

The employee is required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and talk or hear regularly. The employee frequently stands, walks, and reaches with hands and arms, and often climbs, stoops, kneels, bends, balances, crouches, or crawls. The employee may lift and/or move up to 50 pounds regularly and occasionally up to 100 pounds. Specific vision and noise level requirements apply.
Exposure to moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic chemicals, and outdoor weather conditions may occur.
- Hourly Pay Range: $23 – $26 per hour
- Pay Frequency: bi‑weekly
- Annual Bonus: 4%
