The Software Engineer II designs, develops, tests, and maintains software solutions that support Toro's connected irrigation and lighting products. Working under general supervision, this role contributes to the delivery of product features, system enhancements, and defect resolution across cloud, mobile, web, desktop, and embedded software platforms. Established engineering practices to solve moderately complex technical problems, collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams, and participate throughout the software development lifecycle.
This position is expected to work independently on assigned work while seeking guidance on larger architectural or product decisions.
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain software applications and services.
- Participate in requirements analysis, technical design discussions, and solution implementation.
- Develop clean, maintainable, and well‑documented code following established engineering standards and best practices.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defects and production issues.
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Create and maintain automated units, integration, and system tests.
- Collaborate with product management, quality assurance, UX, support, and other engineering teams to deliver customer value.
- Contribute to sprint planning, estimation, backlog refinement, and Agile development activities.
- Support software releases and assists with deployment and operational activities as required.
- Participate in root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions for quality or reliability issues.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering processes, tools, and development practices.

- Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related technical field; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. - Experience:
Minimum of 2-5 years of professional software development experience. - Experience designing, developing, testing, deploying, and supporting software applications and services.
- Experience working in Agile development environments and collaborating with cross‑functional teams.
- Required experience with .NET / C# application development.
- Required experience with Agentic Coding and AI‑assisted software development tools and practices.
- Strong object‑oriented programming and software design skills.
- Experience developing web applications and REST APIs.
- Experience with cloud‑based applications and services.
- Experience with Git version control.
- Experience with automated testing methodologies.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Dev Ops practices.
- Knowledge of software design patterns, secure coding practices, performance optimization, and debugging techniques.
- Experience with relational and/or No
