The Forklift Operator is responsible for operating power industrial trucks to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. The operator is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle and may perform Order Filler and Checker duties in addition to their own. They are responsible for accurate storing, shipping and receiving of product to meet company safety, security, and productivity standards.

As part of the DSV team, Associates are expected to meet company objectives in performance, safety and quality, and to comply with all corporate and site-specific policies. They may be required to perform any combination of the duties described below.

• Receiving/Put-Away
  • Unload inbound shipments safely and move product to storage locations. Input data accurately into WMS.
  • Efficiently stack and store product in appropriate areas.
  • Maintain an organized work area.
• Order Picking
  • Pull and prepare for shipment, ensuring the exact number and type of product are loaded and shipped.
  • Perform picking duties efficiently to meet customer service standards.
  • Prepare freight for operations accurately and in a timely manner as required.
• Quality
  • Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage.
  • Report quality variances.
• Delivery
  • Move product from staging/storage to production lines or staging docks.
  • Ensure proper documentation accompanies freight.
• Inventory
  • Keep appropriate records and reports to maintain tight inventory control and security.
  • Assist in physical inventories and ensure proper stock rotation.
• Safety, Housekeeping, and Compliance
  • Maintain a clean, neat, orderly work area and assist in security of the warehouse.
  • Load, unload, move, stack, and stage product using forklift or other equipment.
  • Maintain equipment in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion and perform minor maintenance as needed.
  • Operate equipment safely following prescribed methods; maintain active forklift certification.
• Maintenance
  • Perform or assist in building, grounds, and equipment maintenance as assigned.
• Other Duties (Site Specific)
  • Change fuel tanks on forklifts as needed; participate in inventories; perform labeling, sorting, wrapping, packing, and repacking as needed.
  • Repair pallets, trailers, and truck bays as requested; help maintain a clean, safe work environment.
  • Perform other duties as required; overtime as dictated by business needs.

• Education and/or Experience
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 6 months of experience in a logistics/distribution environment.
  • Able to operate MHE.
  • Ability to work in unregulated warehouse temperatures in warmer and colder months.
• Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Professional Designations
  • Forklift training program completion.

• Language Skills English (reading, writing, verbal).
• Mathematical Skills Basic to intermediate level for quantities, inventory counts, and handling duties.
• Other Strong attention to detail, able to work with minimal supervision, and adapt to change in a fast-paced environment.

• 1-2 years of warehouse/logistics/distribution experience.
• 1-2 years forklift experience.
• Current or prior MHE certification.
