Responsibilities- Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles, including shuttle trucks and yard goats, to transport goods between designated distribution points, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle compliance with DOT regulations and address required maintenance for operational safety and reliability.
- Manage high-volume yard operations efficiently by coordinating vehicle movement and resolving logistical challenges during the 2nd shift to minimize disruptions and delays.
- Uphold rigorous safety protocols to protect people, products, and equipment while maintaining proper documentation aligned with DOT standards and internal company policies.
- Collaborate with dispatch teams and fellow drivers to provide clear communication on schedules, routes, and priorities, contributing to a cohesive and high-performing transportation network.
- Verifiable work experience as a Class A CDL Driver with a minimum of 2 years in comparable roles involving high-volume yard operations.
- Valid Class A CDL license with an acceptable DOT safety driving record and a current DOT Medical card meeting US Department of Transportation standards.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations governing hours of service, vehicle inspections, and maintenance, paired with practical experience implementing these guidelines.
- Prior experience utilizing yard goat equipment and familiarity with high-volume logistics workflows.
- A track record of consistently adhering to safety standards and demonstrating exceptional driving performance in challenging logistical environments.
- Experience collaborating within a multi-functional transportation team to support high-efficiency yard management and operations during peak hours.
