Warehouse Specialist

Purpose and Scope

The Warehouse Specialist performs a variety of warehousing duties that require an understanding of the establishment’s storage plan. Verify material/merchandise against receiving documents, identify discrepancies and obvious damages, route materials, and store, stack, or palletize material in accordance with prescribed storage methods. Exclude workers whose primary duties involve shipping and receiving work, order filling, or operating forklifts. May be required to drive small to medium trucks for program needs, including possible overnight stays.

• Perform warehousing duties in accordance with storage plan.
• Rearrange and take inventory of stored materials, examine for deterioration or damage.
• Remove material from storage and prepare it for shipment.
• Operate hand or power trucks as needed.
• Verify materials against receiving documents, note discrepancies and damages.
• Route materials to prescribed storage locations.
• Store, stack, or palletize material in prescribed methods.
• Assist with inventory and evaluation of general property.
• Operate company vehicles and material handling equipment.
• Select storage location and record details on inventory worksheets.
• Forward appropriate paperwork to supervisor for review.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and facilities, including government furnished property.
• Assist in remitting, transferring, and releasing property.
• Support sales activities.
• Pick up, transport, and deliver parts, material, equipment, and components to pre‑determined destinations up to 400 miles one‑way.
• Assist with loading and unloading of material being transported.
• Perform other position‑related duties as assigned or requested.

• U.S. citizen.
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent training or experience.
• Six to twelve months of job‑related experience and/or training.
• Valid driver’s license; able to operate a government general‑purpose vehicle.
• Perform driving duties as requested; position may require overnight travel.
• Ability to pass customer clearance.

Typical warehouse environment with no unusual hazards; frequent lifting of 20‑60 pounds; kneeling, standing, walking, and sitting; constant use of speech and hearing; constant mental alertness; planning and organizing skills; ability to work under deadlines.

• Employees will earn H&W dollars per eligible hour (including vacation and holiday up to 40 hours/week). H&W monies offset the employer’s cost of benefits the employee elects into and/or utilizes; any remaining health and welfare monies after all applicable deductions would be deposited into the employee’s 401(k) account on a quarterly basis.

Hourly rate: $24.76. This is a good‑faith estimate of what the company intends to offer for this role at the time this posting was issued. Actual compensation may vary based on job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, internal equity, market data, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and relevant laws.
