Mechanical Piping Project Manager

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Mechanical Piping Project Manager to lead complex mechanical piping and plumbing projects from preconstruction through project closeout. This position plays a critical role in ensuring that all mechanical systems are delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in commercial and industrial mechanical construction, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record of successfully managing large-scale projects in fast-paced environments.

Position Summary

The Mechanical Piping Project Manager is responsible for overseeing all phases of mechanical construction projects, including planning, execution, financial management, scheduling, and client relations. This role serves as the primary point of coordination between engineering teams, fabrication departments, subcontractors, vendors, and clients to ensure project success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead mechanical piping and plumbing projects from preconstruction through completion.
  • Develop, manage, and maintain detailed project schedules and milestones.
  • Oversee project budgets, forecasting, procurement, and cost control efforts.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and internal project teams.
  • Manage project documentation, including submittals, RFIs, change orders, and pay applications.
  • Monitor project performance and proactively resolve technical and operational issues.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, quality standards, project specifications, and applicable industry codes.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and support to project personnel.
  • Collaborate with engineering and fabrication teams to optimize project execution and efficiency.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in commercial or industrial mechanical project management.
  • Proven experience managing large, complex HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical piping projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction scheduling, project controls, and financial management.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard project management software platforms.
  • Knowledge of applicable mechanical, plumbing, and piping codes and regulations.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, negotiation, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced construction environment.
