Overview
This position provides direct operational oversight of the Riverside Community Center, ensuring excellence in programs, member experience, associate leadership, and facility operations. The Program Director functions as a key member of the Platte County Community Center South (PCCCS) leadership team, aligning Riverside operations with association strategy, standards, and community impact goals.
Hiring Range: $43,000-$46,000 annually

- Provide day-to-day operational leadership of Riverside Community Center.
- Ensure consistent, high-quality member experience at all points of entry and engagement.
- Oversee building coverage plans including Membership Associates, Pool Gate Attendants, and Building Monitors.
- Ensure facility cleanliness, safety, and operational readiness.
- Address member concerns, escalations, and community inquiries.
- Monitor daily operations to ensure adherence to YMCA policies and procedures.
- Design, implement, and evaluate a diverse schedule of wellness programs, classes, and engagement initiatives serving members of all ages and abilities.
- Align Riverside programming with PCCCS and association-wide strategic priorities.
- Lead member retention and engagement strategies.
- Support tour follow-up and onboarding systems connected to health and wellness programming.
- Identify new program opportunities based on community need and participation trends.
- Directly supervise assigned associates.
- Interview, hire, train, schedule, and evaluate associates.
- Conduct regular team meetings and provide coaching and development.
- Build a culture of accountability, hospitality, and mission alignment.
- Ensure adequate staffing coverage and operational continuity.
- Develop and manage department budgets for Riverside operations.
- Monitor revenue performance and expense control.
- Prepare and evaluate monthly operational and program reports.
- Support financial sustainability through program growth and retention efforts.
- Participate in Annual Campaign efforts as assigned.
- Partner with association safety & risk leadership to ensure compliance standards.
- Ensure associates maintain required certifications.
- Enforce safety protocols and risk management procedures.
- Respond appropriately to incidents and emergencies.
- Ensure building monitors and pool gate attendants are properly trained in safety and access control procedures.
- Serve as an active member of the PCCCS leadership team.
- Participate in center leadership meetings, strategic planning, and performance reviews.
- Collaborate with leadership to ensure consistency of standards, staffing philosophy, and member experience.
- Support cross-center initiatives and shared resource planning.
- Represent the YMCA at community functions and partnership meetings when appropriate.
- Two years’ experience in this or a related field.
- Two years supervisory experience in leading a team.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or the equivalent combination of education and experience in a health and wellness field.
- Adult and Pediatric FA/CPR/AED.
- ACE or AFAA Group Exercise Instructor certification and/or a personal training certification that is accredited through the National Commission for Certifying Agencies.
- Works effectively with people of different backgrounds, abilities, opinions and perceptions.
- Must be able to reflect a positive attitude.
- Must be able to manage and monitor department budget.
- Ability to make independent and sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Articulate with high skills in written communication.
