2nd shift Laser Operator

POSITION TITLE:

Laser Operator (2nd Shift)

REPORTS TO:

Industrial Supervisor

POSITION SUMMARY:

The function of the Laser Operator is to ensure that all laser machines at Martinrea are maintained and in proper safe working order.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Must work in accordance with Health & Safety regulations, Company rules, policies and procedures

Must use or wear equipment, protective devices or clothing as required by the company

Ensure Machine Set-up meets production and quality goals

Training and monitoring of all operators in the correct and safe use of equipment

Ensure all machines are operating at maximum efficiency and utilization

Physically maintain laser machines and equipment at Martinrea

Must ensure all paperwork and logs are completed prior to shift end

Follow Machine Safety Guidelines, ensure proper lock out procedure are followed at all times

Maintain proper Martinrea housekeeping standards

Responsible to provide own tools as required to fulfill duties

On call for emergencie

All other duties as assigned by Supervisors and Managers

Abide by all Company policies including, but not limited to Health & Safety, Quality & Environmental Systems, HR policies and Martinrea Employee Handbook

COMPETENCIES (Job Knowledge/Skill, Education and related experience)

* High degree of Mechanical aptitude and complete understanding of Mechanical and Electrical procedures

* Complete understanding and knowledge of lock out procedures

* Ability to read drawings, blueprints, schematics and manuals

* Ability to incorporate technical reports

* Vast knowledge of laser equipment required

* able to use measurement tools

WORKING CONDITIONS

* Working in a plant environment

* Frequent distractions and interruptions

* Multiple demands, challenging, fast paced, team orientated environment, can be noisy

* Lift up to 50lbs

EFFORT - PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS

* Constant standing, walking, bending and lifting (light to heavy), ocassional climbing

* Warm/Cold temperatures

* Communication with Supervisors and Management

* Overtime as required, 24 hour on call

* Steel toe safety shoes

* Safety glasses

* Ear Plugs

* Gloves
