Work Schedule and Shift Differential

This position will be trained on our 1st shift, Monday‑Thursday 6:00am to 4:30pm. Once fully trained, the employee will be moved to 2nd shift, Monday‑Thursday 4:45pm to 3:15am and will receive a $1.00 per hour shift differential.

Essential Functions
  • Basic assembly and building of freight valves.
  • Follow written procedural guidelines during the assembly process.
  • Proper use of power and manual tools.
  • Proper use of calibrated gauges, power and manual torquing devices.
  • Must understand and support all Quality, Product Safety, and Health/Safety/Environmental/Energy policies.
  • Must understand and adhere to all relevant statutory or regulatory compliance obligations.
  • Must understand, support and adhere to the Integrated Management System policies, procedures and instructions.
  • Must understand, support and adhere to the relevant key performance indicators (KPIs), as defined in the goal tree.
Skills and Competencies
  • Technical Capacity
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Knowledge of generally accepted best practices and theory.
  • Good mechanical skills.
  • Knowledge of shop use of measuring devices.
  • Basic knowledge of quantitative methods/statistical procedures and graphic skills.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Physical Demands

Employee is exposed to shop floor conditions such as noise, heat, cold, dust/dirt, etc. The employee must regularly stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools and reach with hands and arms and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. While performing duties, the employee frequently stands, walks, uses hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reaches with hands and arms.

The employee must lift a valve on and off of the work stand an average of six times per valve, up to ten times per day with twisting, lifting, bending.

Required

Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
  • One to two years of related experience.
