Industrial Team Lead - 1st shift

Required Education and Experience

Must possess high school diploma or GED.

Must be able to interact effectively with employees at all levels in a team environment.

Ability to apply common sense understanding and sound judgement to carry out detailed written and oral instructions.

Must be able to perform this job successfully, and must be able to perform all essential functions.

Preferred welder.

Know the particular operations well.

Accepted by peers.

Ability to coach other employees to improve efficiency, quality, and standard work.

Ability to communicate with Management about problems.

Diligent in improving the performance of his/her area.

Keep all documentation and metrics up to date.

Basic computer skills.

• Oversee the assigned weld area.
• Monitor production output of operators.
• Ensure that weld technicians and operators follow all safety rules and PPE requirements.
• Conduct on-the-job training to new weld technicians and operators.
• Inform Supervisor of any potential problems related to equipment and processes to minimize unnecessary downtime.
• Escalate all deficiencies related to quality, safety and HR issues.
• Ensure that good housekeeping is maintained at all times.
• Ensure that all first-off, in-process and last-off procedures are being followed at all times by the welding department.
• Perform pre-shift meeting.
• Participate in Daily Exercises.
• Perform standardized work as posted on work instructions (ODS).
• Participate in Continuous Improvement Activities.
• Comply with all Company rules, regulations and policies by the company.
• Abide by all Company polices including, but not limited to the following:
  Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Systems, Human Resources policies, and the Martinrea Employee Handbook.

Working in an office and plant environment.

Ability to work overtime as needed to support production.

Ability to work in hot and cold environments.

Ability to work in loud environments.

Ability to use hands, arms and wrists to work continuously throughout shift.

Safety shoes and safety glasses are required.

Contribute to safe, clean and comfortable work environment by applying the principles of the 5S discipline.

• Constant standing and repetitive arm/wrist movements with occasional bending.
• Constant communication with employees, peers, management.
• Possible use of computer and dispatch radio.
• Overtime as required.
• Lifting as required.

• Must work in accordance with Health and Safety regulations, Company and plant rules, policies and procedures.
• Must use or wear Personal Protective Equipment and certain clothing as required by the Company.
