Repair Technician; assembly

Schedule:

Mon – Thu 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM; overtime Fridays as needed.

Hourly pay: $17.50 – $22.00, depending on experience; quarterly bonuses, 2% attendance bonus, full benefits starting day one, and an extra PTO bonus potential.

• Basic disassembly and washing, and reassembly of freight or locomotive valves or brake pistons.
• Operation of semi‑automatic equipment (e.g., pedestal buffers, hand buffers, wash machines, ultrasonic washers).
• Handle valves, parts, and tools safely.
• Use power and manual tools (impact wrenches, drills, EZ Outs, hand tools).
• Understand and comply with all quality and safety rules, guidelines, policies, and procedures.
• Perform hazardous waste management duties; annual hazardous waste management completed;
  Department of Transportation Hazardous Materials Ground Shipper completed every three years.
• Understand and support Quality, Product Safety, and Health/Safety/Environmental/Energy policies.
• Understand and adhere to statutory or regulatory compliance obligations.
• Understand and support the Integrated Management System policies, procedures, and instructions.
• Understand, support, and adhere to the Integrated Management System key performance indicators (KPIs) as defined in the goal tree.

• Technical capacity.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with assistance.
• Knowledge of generally accepted best practices and theory.
• Good mechanical skills.
• Knowledge of shop measuring devices.
• Ability to complete disassembly without destroying parts.
• Basic knowledge of quantitative methods, statistical procedures, and graphic skills.
• Organization skills.
• Time management.

No supervisory responsibilities.

Employee required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, and reach with hands and arms. Occasional lifting or moving up to 50 pounds. Employee may be exposed to shop floor conditions (noise, heat, cold, dust/dirt).

• High school diploma or equivalent (Preferred).
• One to two years of related experience.
