This position will be hired and trained on the first shift (Monday‑Thursday 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM). Once fully trained, the employee will move to the second shift (Monday‑Thursday 4:45 PM to 3:15 AM) with a $1.00 per hour shift differential.

• Basic disassembly and washing of freight or locomotive valves or brake pistons.
• Operation of semi‑automatic equipment such as pedestal buffers, hand buffers, wash machines, and ultrasonic washers.
• Handle valves, parts, and tools in a safe manner.
• Use power and manual tools such as impact wrenches, drills, EZ Outs, and hand tools properly.
• Understand and comply with all quality and safety rules, guidelines, policies, and procedures.
• Perform hazardous waste management duties as necessary, including annual hazardous waste management and the Department of Transportation Hazardous Materials Ground Shipper every three (3) years.
• Support all Quality, Product Safety, and Health/Safety/Environmental/Energy policies.
• Adhere to all relevant statutory or regulatory compliance obligations.
• Follow Integrated Management System policies, procedures, and instructions.
• Support relevant key performance indicators (KPIs) as defined in the goal tree.

• Technical capacity.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds with assistance.
• Knowledge of generally accepted best practices and theory.
• Good mechanical skills.
• Knowledge of shop use of measuring devices.
• Ability to complete the disassembly process without destroying parts.
• Basic knowledge of quantitative methods, statistical procedures, and graphic skills.
• Organization skills.
• Time management.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Employee will be exposed to shop floor conditions such as noise, heat, cold, dust, and dirt. Employee must stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, and reach with hands and arms. Employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One to two years of related experience.

The anticipated wage scale for Riverside, MO is $17.50 – $19.00 per hour.
