Position Summary

The Mechanical Assembly Technician is responsible for producing high‑quality machines for all Marlen product lines by following detailed instructions, schematics, and blueprints. This role ensures precision and efficiency in assembling machines and subassemblies, performing wiring tasks, and conducting quality checks to meet specifications. The assembler maintains a safe and organized work environment, adheres to company standards, and supports operational excellence.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assemble machines and components for all Marlen product lines using hand tools, power tools, and appropriate equipment.
  • Interpret and apply schematics, blueprints, assembly instructions, and bills of materials.
  • Position and align parts manually or with lifting equipment such as hoists or forklifts.
  • Assist with wiring assemblies and machinery.
  • Perform quality control inspections to verify specifications and resolve assembly issues.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work area in compliance with safety and cleanliness standards.
  • Prepare work by reviewing parts lists and gathering necessary materials.
  • Inspect equipment and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions.
Position Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years machine assembly experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints accurately.
  • Proficient in the safe use of hand tools and power tools.
  • Familiarity with electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems preferred.
  • Previous experience operating overhead cranes, ladders, aerial lifts, and powered industrial equipment preferred.
  • Basic computer proficiency for documentation and machine interface.
  • Quick learner with strong problem‑solving skills; adaptable to change and committed to continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively convey information and collaborate with team members.
  • Must be available for overtime, including occasional weekends, based on production demands.
Pre‑Employment Verifications

Must satisfactorily pass background check, post‑offer drug screen, and physical prior to employment.

Physical Requirements

The Mechanical Assembly Technician must frequently stand, sit, and walk while performing assembly tasks. Kneeling, crawling, and climbing are required only on an occasional basis. The role requires precise hand dexterity to handle tools, small parts, wiring, and measuring equipment. Employees must reach, twist, and bend while maneuvering around machinery on an occasional basis. Performs intricate mechanical tasks within confined or restricted access areas infrequently.

The position also involves lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling parts and tools essential to the job, including the ability to lift up to 50 pounds; however, most items lifted are 10 pounds or less, and assist devices are used for heavier loads. Clear visual acuity is necessary for reading drawings, inspecting components, and performing precision tasks, and effective communication is required in a manufacturing environment.
