The Shift Lead will train on the 1st shift (Mon - Thur 6 AM - 4:30 PM), then will move to the 2nd shift (4:45pm to 3:15am Mon-Thurs) and receive a $1.00 per hour shift differential.
$26-30/hr + differential + overtime

Essential Functions- Understand all facets of work in the cell (basic disassembly, wash, rebuild, and testing of freight and locomotive valves, brake pistons and test devices.
- Proper use of power and manual tools, operations of semi-automatic equipment, lapping, washes.
- Must oversee OTJ training for all new cell employees.
- Instruct cell employees on work instruction, proper use of all tools and equipment.
- Maintain a 5S environment in the cell at all times and immediately address any and all safety issues.
- Conduct standup meetings, issue instructions for daily goals and shift personnel.
- Work closely with Production Supervisor and Production Manager to ensure rates and goals are met, issues reported and resolved.
- Must understand and support all Quality, Product Safety, and Health/Safety/Environmental/Energy policies.
- Must understand and adhere to all relevant statutory or regulatory compliance obligations.
- Must understand and support all Integrated Management System policies, procedures, and instructions.
- Must understand and support relevant key performance indicators (KPIs), as defined in the goal tree.
- Technical Capacity
- Proficient in skills for levels 1, 2, and 3
- Must have good mechanical skills.
- Must be able to multitask.
- Knowledge/understanding of best practices and theory.

- Must follow and understand written and unwritten NYAB policies and procedures, understand and completes all documentation required; be aware of safety, quality, production, and housekeeping goals for the plant; be alert for and report all safety and quality concerns.
- Lead other employees in all major functions of the position.
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
The employee will be exposed to shop floor conditions, i.e. noise, heat, cold, dust/dirt etc. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.

RequiredEducation and Experience
1. High school diploma or equivalent (Preferred)
2. One to Two years of related experience.
