NDT Quality Technician
QPS Employment Group is hiring an NDT Quality Technician for a company in Riverside, MO. This is a direct hire opportunity on day shift.
NDT Quality Technician Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Conduct weld inspections using nondestructive testing (NDT) methods such as VT, PT, MT, or UT to verify weld quality
- Use handheld measuring devices, including micrometers, calipers, and go/no-go gauges to perform precise dimensional assessments
- Read and interpret complex engineering drawings and GD&T specifications to guide inspection processes
- Lead peer groups from production and QC teams to complete inspection tasks efficiently and accurately
- Utilize laser trackers for precise spatial measurements as needed
- Document inspection results and compile reports to support quality assurance processes
- Maintain certification requirements, including Level 2 qualifications in selected NDT methods and CWI certification or equivalent
- Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to address quality issues and suggest improvements
- Follow safety protocols and PPE regulations at all times within the plant and yard
NDT Quality Technician Requirements:
- At least 3 years of weld inspection experience
- At least 3 years of experience using handheld measuring devices such as micrometers, calipers, go/no-go gauges
- At least 1 year of experience using laser trackers
- Ability to read and interpret complex drawings
- Thorough understanding of GD&T
- Certifiable to a Level 2 in accordance with SNT-TC-1A in at least 2 of the following NDT methods: VT, PT, MT, UT
- Possess a current CWI certification or meet the qualification requirements to be certified
- Proficient using Microsoft Office products
- Willingness to learn new things
- Able to work well with little supervision
- Ability to communicate criticism in a respectful and considerate manner
- Ability to advocate quality improvements in a manner that will foster concurrence
- Ability to be a leader in groups of peers from production to QC
- Good attendance
- Must have enough manual dexterity and stability as required for precision work
- Able to see details at close range
- Able to lift up to 30 pounds at times
- Able to traverse facilities and machinery by climbing, balancing, lifting, walking, stooping, and carrying materials
- PPE is required at all times in the plant and yard
