Referral and Medical Auth Coordinator

• Process referral requests for all providers
• Ensure referral/authorization numbers are obtained
• Search electronic medical records for clinical information
• Reviews and processes referral and authorization requests
• Handle calls from internal and external sources
• Communicate as appropriate with payer, provider, patient

• High School or GED (Required)
• Excellent customer service and organizational skills
• Strong typing and computer skills
• Working knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT-4 classification systems
• Anatomy & Physiology knowledge
• Medical Terminology knowledge
• 1-2 years working knowledge in a healthcare facility
• Minimum of 2 years Experience in a physician office with patient registration
• One years Experience with third party payors required
• Computer Experience required

Demonstrates expertise in processing referral requests and obtaining authorization numbers while ensuring effective communication with payers, providers, and patients. Proficient in medical terminology, ICD-9, and CPT-4 classification systems, with strong organizational and customer service skills.
