Job Overview
Simpson Strong‑Tie is a leading manufacturer of engineered structural connectors and software. The 2nd‑shift welder will perform the final fabrication step for both customer specials and stock products.
Shift and CompensationShift
Hours:
2:30 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.
Shift Differential: $0.75/h
Hourly Pay: $21.25 – $25.65
- Perform set‑ups on welding machines, manual and robot welding, weld parts in accordance with drawings and Simpson specifications (70%).
- Document inspections to assure product quality (15%).
- Develop welding projects, analyze work orders, prints, finished assemblies; calculate requirements, study metals, determine welding techniques (15%).
- Welding program graduate or equivalent experience (AWS certification a plus).
- Simpson welding certification required (to be obtained upon hire).
- 1–2 years of welding experience preferred.
- Ability to wear PPE for extended periods.
- Basic knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control and manufacturing techniques.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and ability to promote a safe work environment.
- Strong communication skills and customer‑service orientation.
- Proficiency reading and interpreting blueprints, production drawings, and work orders.
- Read a tape measure to 1/32” tolerance and use combination squares to achieve ±1° accuracy.
Regular standing, walking, seeing, talking, and hearing are required. Employees must be comfortable with repetitive hand/arm movements, holding positions, stooping and bending. Lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling weights up to 50 pounds, and heavier weights with proper equipment may be required. Exposure to bright/dim light, heat, cold, loud noise, vibration, fumes, chemicals, dust, and electrical shock may occur.
Work Status & LocationThis is a full‑time, non‑exempt position located in Riverside, CA. Domestic travel up to 5% of the time may be required. Relocation is not available for this position.
