Job Overview

Mercyhealth is seeking a PRN Neonatal Nurse Practitioner to join our LevelIII NICU team in Rockford, Illinois.

This role provides advanced, evidence‑based care for critically ill and premature newborns in a high‑acuity environment, collaborating closely with neonatologists, pediatric subspecialists, nurses, respiratory therapists, and other multidisciplinary team members.

• Deliver advanced nursing care to critically ill and premature newborns in a LevelIII NICU setting.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team, including neonatologists, pediatric subspecialists, nurses, respiratory therapists, and other specialists.
• Utilize EPIC EMR to document patient care and facilitate interdisciplinary communication.

• Graduate of an accredited Neonatal NP program.
• National certification as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP‑BC).
• Active state APRN license and active state DEA license (or eligibility).
• Active BLS and NRP certifications (or eligibility).
• Ability to practice independently in a high‑acuity neonatal setting.

• Prior bedside experience as a registered nurse in a LevelIII NICU.
• Strong clinical decision‑making, communication, and teamwork skills.

• Highly competitive hourly pay: $69–$80.
