Hiring Range: $36.50 – $50.23 per hour

A new Riverside Smithfield Hospital, located on a 27‑acre campus at 19339 Benn’s Grant Boulevard, will provide modern medical services to the community. The facility will include an Emergency Department, Diagnostic Imaging Services, 38 Medical/Surgical beds, 12 ICU beds, and 4 operating rooms. The role reports to the Nurse Manager and Director and is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the total nursing care of assigned patients in the Critical Care/Telemetry Complex.

Eligible for up to $10,000 for 2+ years of RN experience; up to $6,000 for less than 2 years of RN experience.

• Assess patient clinical and psychosocial needs using competency standards.
• Partner with patients and families to develop, implement, and evaluate care plans.
• Incorporate evidence‑based standards of practice.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team and coordinate care.
• Facilitate safe patient transitions to next care settings.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers; document education provided.
• Delegate and prioritize tasks to ensure quality patient care.
• Recognize and respond to emergency situations.
• Complete all required clinical and quality documentation per RHS standards and regulatory requirements.
• Demonstrate urgency to facilitate patient throughput while maintaining consistent, competent, ethical care.
• Focus on quality outcomes, evidence‑based practice, and quality measures to meet customer needs.

• Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in Nursing (Nursing Diploma also acceptable).
• High School Diploma or GED if holding Nursing Diploma.
• Minimum of 1 year of related experience (preferred).
• Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia; compact state license acceptable.
• CPR/BLS Certification upon hire.
• ACLS Provider certification within 90 days of hire.
• PALS Provider certification within 180 days of hire.
• Trauma Certified RN (TNCC) within 1 year (preferred).
• Emergency Pediatric Certified RN (ENPC) within 1 year (preferred).
