Newport News, Virginia - Hiring Range $76,400.00 - $/Annual. Actual pay is determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, education, credentials, skills, internal equity, and business needs.
OverviewThe Clinical Compliance Coordinator reports to the Assistant Chief Nursing Officer of Lifelong Health and ensures oversight of clinical outcomes, systems, and regulatory compliance. This role conducts audits on key quality measures and high‑risk processes, implementing strategic actions to drive improvement and supports performance improvement initiatives across the Lifelong Heath division.
What you will do- Review and assess electronic medical records to verify accuracy of services provided and ensure compliance with standards of practice and regulatory requirements.
- Lead regulatory compliance audits utilizing local, state and federal regulations such as CMS Critical Element Pathways to proactively identify risks, ensure adherence to regulatory standards, and drive continuous improvement in clinical quality and patient safety.
- Conduct investigations and root cause analyses of actual or potential safety issues and compliance breaches to identify underlying factors, ensure corrective actions, and strengthen systems that promote regulatory adherence and patient safety.
- Develop and implement performance improvement plans, targeted action plans, and just‑in‑time training to advance quality initiatives, strengthen compliance, and drive sustainable improvements in patient care outcomes.
- Collaborate with internal teams and cross‑departmental partners to provide guidance, support, and expertise in regulatory compliance, fostering alignment and consistency across the Lifelong Health division.
- Education:
Associate’s Degree in Nursing (Required);
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (Preferred). - Experience:
3-4 years of Long‑Term Care Nursing Experience (Required). - Long‑Term Care Regulatory Knowledge Experience (Required).
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) with the Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP) upon hire (Required).
- CPR/BLS Certification from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or American Safety and Health Institute within 30 days of hire (Required).
