Position Overview
Distribution Center Operations Manager – responsible for driving operational efficiencies and leading area managers across one or more departments:
Inbound Operations, Put to Light, Ticketing, Quality Control, or Outbound Operations. The role ensures smooth operations of the DC, including receiving, processing, storing, packing, and shipping merchandise to achieve the mission of delivering the right products to the right stores at the right time.
Tuesday - Friday 4:00am – 2:00pm
Tuesday - Friday 4:00pm – 2:00am
Saturday - Monday 5:00am – 5:00pm
Saturday - Monday 5:00pm – 5:00am
- Ensure operational excellence in all warehouse areas.
- Maintain and optimize the efficiency of warehouse management systems.
- Guarantee timely and accurate receipt, processing, and movement of inventory.
- Keep all warehouse areas organized and presentable for customers.
- Determine optimal staffing and efficiency levels to meet product processing goals.
- Design and implement cost-control systems in a dynamic business environment.
- Motivate, coach, and train area managers and associates through informal and formal feedback.
- Plan and control delivery schedules to maximize store service and operational efficiency.
- Promote a safe workplace by enforcing Burlington safety policies and procedures.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field preferred (Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Management) or equivalent education and experience.
- Minimum 4 years of experience leading in a high-volume distribution environment.
- Strong understanding of supply chain, distribution, warehouse, transportation, and inventory management.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Strong reasoning, conflict‑management, analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Experience with WMS, distribution technology, and equipment such as conveyors and MHE.
- Ability to read and interpret policies and procedures and operate systems within the Distribution Center.
- Flexibility to work a rotating schedule and access all areas of the DC, including mezzanine platforms.
- Physical ability to lift and move boxes weighing 40lbs. or more and stand for extended periods.
- Bi‑lingual proficiency is a plus.
