Operations Manager, Program / Project Manager
The role of Assistant Project Manager includes:
- Call in blue stakes
- Apply for permits
- Deliver bids
- Attend pre-bid meetings
- Jobsite inspections (storm water, etc.)
- Call subs & suppliers for quotes
- Run errands for PM's or crews
- Field measurements
- Drone flights (license required, can help obtain)
- Assist Project Managers with office and field duties
- Numeracy
- A methodical approach to work
- Team working, relationship-building, and influencing skills
- Negotiation
- Communication
- Organization and time management
Assists the Project Manager with planning, scheduling, and execution of construction projects
Coordinates daily project activities to ensure work progresses according to plan
Schedule & Deadline ManagementHelps monitor project schedules and milestones
Identifies potential delays and communicates concerns promptly
Quality ControlSupports quality assurance efforts to ensure work meets contract specifications, drawings, and company standards
Assists with inspections and punch lists
Budget Awareness & Cost ControlAssists in tracking project costs, change orders, and expenditures
Helps identify cost-saving opportunities and prevents budget overruns
Safety & CompliancePromotes and enforces jobsite safety policies and OSHA requirements
Ensures safety documentation is completed and issues are reported immediately
CommunicationCommunicates clearly and professionally with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, vendors, and clients
Maintains accurate and timely project documentation and correspondence
Assists with subcontractor scheduling, scope coordination, and performance tracking
Helps resolve field issues in a timely and professional manner
Documentation & ReportingMaintains organized project files, including submittals, meeting notes, daily reports, and change documentation
Provides accurate status updates and reports as required
Problem Solving & InitiativeIdentifies project issues early and proposes practical solutions
Takes initiative to support project success while knowing when to elevate concerns
Teamwork & Professional ConductWorks collaboratively with field and office teams
Demonstrates professionalism, respect, and accountability at all times
Attendance & ReliabilityReports to work and job sites as scheduled
Meets deadlines and follows through on assigned responsibilities
Job Knowledge & DevelopmentContinually develops construction knowledge, project management skills, and understanding of company procedures
Accepts feedback and applies it to improve performance
