Job Summary:
Attendance Trackers work with students, families, educators, and other staff members to maintain attendance, support student responsibility in a way that will increase student success. Attendance, physical presence, and timeliness are required and are essential functions of this position.
Essential Functions:
- Identify student with excessive absences by generating a weekly "hotsheet".
- Monitor student attendance daily to promote regular attendance habits.
- Establish positive and open communication between the school and parent/guardian of students.
- Recognize student improvement through appropriate and administrator approved activities.
- Interface with administrators, counselors, social workers, psychologists, teachers and other staff to increase communication and identification of potential attendance issues.
- Contact parent/guardian of students with attendance issues.
- Attend team meetings and present communications and success.
- Track contact information, attendance interventions, and progress toward goals.
- Establish and maintain a contract system with students.
- Establish incentive programs with students to meet attendance goals.

Required Education and
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent

Required Knowledge and
Skills:
- Excellent computer skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work well with students, parents, and other adults.
- Ability to develop positive personal relationships with students to build a foundation of trust.
Assigned Decision Making:
- Decide the best way to track and positively interact with students and parent to promote regular school attendance.
Interactions with Others:
- Positive interaction with students, teachers, social workers, psychologists, support personnel and administrators.
Supervisory Responsibility: NA

Working Environment:
- Work setting is mainly in the classroom. May be asked to work inside and outside the building to accomplish assigned tasks.
- Working conditions can be in hot and cold weather.
- May experience stress from disruptive students and/or groups of students.
Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to speak and/or hear.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, and crouch.
- Occasionally required to use hands to handle or feel and must occasionally climb or balance.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
- Must be able to sit/stand for long periods of time.
