About the Role

The Director of Curriculum serves as the educational leader of the campus. Working in close partnership with the Principal, this position is responsible for curriculum implementation, educator development, classroom excellence, licensing compliance, and day-to-day school operations. Together, the Principal and Director of Curriculum provide collaborative leadership to ensure exceptional educational experiences for students, outstanding support for families, and operational excellence throughout the school.

Designation

This position may serve as the Center Director or as the designated Director Designee under Utah Child Care Licensing. When serving as the Director Designee, this position is responsible for carrying out the duties and authority of the Center Director during the Center Director’s absence, in accordance with Utah Administrative Code R381-100-7.

Compensation and Growth Opportunity
  • Starting Base Salary
    : $50,000 - 55,000, based on experience and education.
  • Campus Growth Bonus: Eligible for enrollment-based bonuses tied to achievement of campus enrollment milestones. Bonus opportunities are designed to recognize the Director of Curriculum's contribution to student retention, family satisfaction, educational quality, and overall campus success. Enrollment levels must be sustained for 60 consecutive days to qualify for associated bonuses.
  • Annual Quality Bonus
    :
    Eligible for a yearly performance bonus equal to up to 5% of base salary, awarded based on achievement of measurable quality benchmarks, including parent satisfaction, staff retention, curriculum implementation, NAEYC accreditation progress, licensing compliance, and operational excellence.
  • Long-Term Earnings Potential
    :
    Total compensation is designed to grow through a balanced combination of educational excellence and campus performance. Approximately 75% of incentive opportunities are tied to quality and leadership outcomes, while 25% are tied to overall campus enrollment growth and retention, rewarding leaders who build strong teams, foster a positive school culture, and contribute to sustained campus success.
Key Responsibilities Campus Leadership and Daily Operations
  • Serve as Assistant Principal and member of the campus leadership team
  • Partner with the Principal to oversee daily school operations
  • Maintain Director Designee credential and lead campus operations in the Principal's absence
  • Support achievement of enrollment, retention, and school performance goals
Education Leadership & Development
  • Direct all curriculum implementation and instructional quality initiatives
  • Conduct classroom observations and coaching sessions
  • Lead professional development and mentoring programs
  • Support educator evaluations and performance improvement plans
  • Partner with the Principal to recruit, onboard, and retain high-quality educators
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and accountable school culture
School Culture and Compliance
  • Promote Ivybrook Academy's mission, values, and educational philosophy
  • Uphold NAEYC-aligned standards and best practices in early childhood education
  • Ensure compliance with all licensing, health, safety, and regulatory requirements
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and student-centered school culture
Licensing Compliance and Regulatory Oversight
  • Obtain and maintain Director Designee credentials under Utah Child Care Licensing
  • Support compliance with Utah Administrative Code R381-100-7 and related licensing requirements
  • Ensure staff qualifications, required training, and child-to-caregiver ratios meet state standards
  • Support licensing inspections, documentation, and emergency preparedness procedures
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Child Development, Montessori Education, or a related field preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in early childhood education required; leadership or instructional coaching experience preferred
  • Montessori classroom experience required;
    Montessori credential or formal Montessori training strongly preferred
  • Experience with Reggio Emilia-inspired practices and child-centered learning approaches preferred
  • Must meet Utah Child Care Licensing requirements for a Director Designee under Utah Administrative Code R381-100-7, including qualifications necessary to assume the duties and authority of the Center Director when serving in the Director's…
