Under limited supervision, the Automation Lead is responsible for the manufacturing automation and controls systems design, specification, documentation, programming, simulation, testing, and start-up assistance. The incumbent will be the point person on their projects for all automation needs.
Position Functions- Assign specific tasks to automation engineers for project execution
- Provide guidance to customer during project meeting
- Work as part of a larger multi-disciplined project team
- Create the I/O List from Equipment List and P&IDs
- Develop the Functional Analysis based on a Functional Description from a Mechanical Process Engineer
- Develop the PLC and HMI programs based on Functional Analysis
- Lead commissioning Team for equipment startup on site
- Conduct Factory Acceptance Test, Site Acceptance Test, and Commissioning. Produce related technical documentation for their respective protocols
- Compile and author the Operator Installation Manual and technical equipment files
- Provide operator and maintenance technician training
- Provide feedback on the project for overall process improvement
- Communicate with stakeholders about his/her project team
Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience in Controls and/or Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.

- Versatility and strong willingness to learn and perform more than assigned tasks
- Ability to work autonomously and complete tasks without constant supervision
- A strong interest in technical tasks and willingness to go out in the field
- Excellent attention to detail
- Great interpersonal & organizational skills
- Ability to produce, design, develop, and implement process function into SCADA and control system based on Functional Analysis and Functional Description
- Ability to work on collaborative multi-disciplined projects autonomously
- Experience in decision-making to execute the assigned scope of work within the constraints of schedule, budget, and specification
- Strong experience in Industrial electrical design, Information Technology, and Automation domains
- Strong communication skills with the ability to lead and motivate the team
- Strong development of automated and monitored solutions on platforms following the standard IEC-1131-3
