Medical Assistant II - OB/GYN
Granger Medical Clinic is seeking a part-time (16 hours) Medical Assistant II to join our Riverton OB/GYN Clinic. This is an immediate opening for a motivated and patient-focused individual.
In this role, you will work closely with physicians and clinical staff to deliver high-quality patient care. Responsibilities include telephone triage, insurance authorizations, recording vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, etc.), administering immunizations, performing phlebotomy, maintaining exam rooms, and managing documentation and filing.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate courteously and effectively with patients
- Typing/keyboarding proficiency of at least 40 WPM
- Basic arithmetic, computer, and analytical skills
- Dependable, flexible, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Team-oriented with a willingness to assist others as needed
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Ability to communicate professionally with physicians, staff, and patients
- Bilingual skills are preferred
- Answer phones, schedule appointments, and greet patients
- Collect and maintain accurate patient demographic information
- Obtain prior authorizations for medications and procedures
- Prepare patients for examinations and provide providers with relevant information (lab results, vitals, medications, allergies)
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding appointments and care needs
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- High school diploma or GED REQUIRED
- Medical Assistant certification preferred
- Standing and walking for extended periods, Lifting up to 50lbs.
- Repetitive motion associated with operating a computer and other office equipment.
