The Configuration Technician II is responsible for both internal and external facing responsibilities. In this position, you will be a critical point of contact between iT1 Consulting and the rest of the organization, as well as iT1’s customers, in setting up, configuring, and deploying Client assets.
- Set up and configure computers and peripheral based on the scope of work.
- Accurately diagnose problems with malfunctioning PC, Mac, laptop, printer, or other peripheral.
- Perform quality control on the project assigned.
- Follow instructions per project – every project is different.
- Respond to order requests and customer emails to assist in troubleshooting any problems that arise.
- Act as a subject matter expert in day-to-day operations.
- Train team members on process, tools, and technology.
- Imaging laptops and desktops.
- Hardware and software installations and configurations.
- Troubleshooting desktop and laptop hardware and software issues.
- Bench testing refurbished devices such as PC, monitors, switches, phones, etc.
- Desktop and laptop repair.
- Server hardware configuration.
- Small office installs.
- Documentation.
- 3–5 years of related experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A+ or comparable experience.
- Working knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems.
- Working knowledge of common desktop applications.
- Strong knowledge of desktop and laptop computer hardware.
- Ability to work full time.
- Occasional travel.
- Be able to lift 50 lb.
- Dependable transportation.
- Ability to multi‑task.
- Lifting or carrying up to 50 lbs.
- Standing for long periods of time.
- Time spent in low postures (crouching, stooping, kneeling, bending).
- Climbing (ramps, stairs, or ladders).
- Sitting at a computer for 8 hours per day.
- Keyboarding for 8 hours per day.
- Reaching overhead.
- Near vision (working with small objects or reading small print).
- Speaking (communicating information to clients/store coworkers).
This position is a benefits eligible, temporary role that has a 12 month duration.
