Job Overview
Columbia Technology Partners is seeking a System Administrator 2 to support the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of IT systems across enterprise environments. This role emphasizes mission operations sustainment, including advanced troubleshooting, system monitoring, and maintaining reliable performance across Linux-based infrastructure. The ideal candidate will support escalated issues, manage system stability, and contribute to ongoing infrastructure improvements.
Key Responsibilities- Provide implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance support for IT systems.
- Perform Tier 1 and Tier 2 problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution.
- Manage day‑to‑day system operations, including monitoring, maintenance, and updates.
- Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Linux operating systems (RHEL, CentOS, Rocky, SLES, Ubuntu).
- Support OS installation, file systems, TCP/IP networking, and software lifecycle activities.
- Troubleshoot system, application, and infrastructure issues across mission environments.
- Utilize automation and configuration management tools (Salt, Ansible).
- Monitor systems using tools such as Nagios, Prometheus, Grafana, and Splunk.
- Collaborate using Jira, Confluence, Git, and Slurm for workload and system management.
- Support performance optimization and capacity planning.
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (5 additional years of experience may substitute).
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a System Administrator in similar environments.
- DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification or equivalent.
- Strong experience with Linux system administration, networking, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with monitoring, automation, and scripting tools (e.g., Nagios, Prometheus, Ansible, Bash).
- U.S. citizenship is required for all applicants.

- Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a security background investigation and polygraph.
- Active security clearance with appropriate polygraph is required.
- DOD 8570 IAT Level II certification.
