System Administrator

Description

Columbia Technology Partners is seeking a System Administrator 3 to support the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of IT systems across complex enterprise environments. This role focuses on sustaining mission‑critical infrastructure, leading advanced troubleshooting efforts, and supporting high‑performance computing (HPC) environments.

• Provide implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance support for IT systems.
• Perform advanced Tier 2 problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution.
• Manage system operations, including monitoring, maintenance, and optimization.
• Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Linux operating systems across enterprise environments.
• Support HPC infrastructure, including high‑speed networking (Infini Band, Slingshot).
• Administer and troubleshoot storage solutions, including Lustre file systems and DDN Exascaler appliances.
• Support TCP/IP networking and storage fabric environments.
• Utilize automation and configuration tools (Salt, Ansible) to improve efficiency.
• Maintain and enhance system monitoring and alerting (Nagios, Prometheus, Grafana).
• Lead troubleshooting efforts and provide technical guidance for complex system issues.

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (5 additional years of experience may substitute).
• Minimum 10 years of experience as a System Administrator in similar environments.
• DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (or equivalent).
• Advanced experience with Linux systems, HPC environments, and networking (including storage fabrics).
• Experience with automation, monitoring, and performance tools (Ansible, Salt, Nagios, Prometheus, Grafana).

• U.S. Citizenship is required for all applicants.
• Certification Requirements:
  • DOD 8570 IAT Level II Certification
• Active Security Clearance with appropriate polygraph is required.
