Materials Manager

Manage vendor relationships to maximize service levels, minimize acquisition costs and increase inventory turnover. Responsible for material/disposable planning, scheduling, purchasing and production/inventory control systems. Ensure that the Center has the supplies, instruments and equipment they need when they are needed and that special patient care needs are met promptly and efficiently.

Essential functions:

• Responsibleforthedailymanagementofallinventoriesandallprocessesrelatedtoreceiving and distribution of supplies and equipment.
• Coordinateddailydepartmentaloperationswhichincludedistribution,inventory, equipment and record keeping of supplies and services.
• Assuresthatproperauthorityisobtainedforallorders.
• Assuresthatordersreceivedareaccuratelycheckedagainstpackingslipsand purchase orders for accuracy and scanned into COUPA or the electronic inventory software the facility uses.
• Aidsurgerystaffinpreparingsuppliesfornext-daycases.
• Assurepatientcareareasarestockedtoparlevels.
• Enforcestagout-lockoutpolicyformalfunctioningequipmentandarrangesrepairs.
• Directthedevelopmentandmaintenancesystemsforselectingandapproving substitute and/or replacement materials.
• NegotiateforvendoragreementsensuringthebestpriceandtermsforASC or ensuring HPG pricing.
• Createagoodworkingrelationshipwithallkeysuppliers.
• Place,expediteandcloseallpurchaseordersasneeded.
• Review these at least once per year for price, competitiveness, quality, and delivery.
• Set-upandkeepactivesystemofbackupsuppliersforallitemsbought.
• Set-upmethodfortrackingsupplierperformance.(Quality,Delivery,Price)
• Continuouslyworkwithclinicalareastosupportcorrectinventorylevelsforall stock items.

Managesshippingandreceivingtoensureaccuracyofinventorytransactions. Follows established company policies and procedures.

Performs job following the company’s injury prevention program. Performs other duties as assigned. Sometravelrequired.

Requirements/

Qualifications:

High School graduate or equivalent.

Bachelor’s in operations management, business, or another related field preferred. Three years’experience as

Managerforahospital,surgerycenterorhigh-volume physician’soffice.

Excellent organizational, written, computer, and verbal communication skills Should be very client driven and understand internal and external customers' needs.

• Knowledgeofhealthcareproducts,stockrotationprocedures,storage systems, inventory supplements, preference card management and credit.
• Direct,an initiative-takerwiththeabilitytomulti-task,bedetailedorientedand possess superior organization and communication skills.
• Mustbe abletomanagealargevolumeofdetailed work accurately.
• Musthaveworkingknowledgeof Microsoft Office products .
• Musthavesuperiorleadership,communicationandorganizationalskills.
• Must have a strong ability to interact with co-workers, vendors, and managementonaregularbasisandinapleasantandefficientmanner.
• Abilitytoperformsimplemathematicalfunctions.
• Requires sitting and standing associated with a normal office environment. Unpacking and breaking down boxes; some of which could be over 25 pounds.

Environmental/working conditions:

Normal busy office environment with much telephone work. Occasional evening or weekend work.
