Incoming Quality Control Technician

As an Incoming Quality Control (IQC) Technician, you'll help ensure every component that enters production meets the quality standards required to build the next generation of unmanned aerial systems (UAS) supporting critical defense missions around the world.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to begin or grow a career in advanced manufacturing and quality assurance. You'll work alongside experienced quality and manufacturing professionals while developing hands-on skills in electronics inspection, soldering, cable assembly, quality documentation, and continuous improvement. Success in this role comes from attention to detail, a willingness to learn, and pride in delivering high-quality work.

What You'll Do

  • Inspect incoming electronic components, printed circuit boards (PCBs), cable assemblies, mechanical parts, and other materials to verify they meet quality standards.
  • Verify workmanship and compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and inspection criteria.
  • Identify, document, and report nonconforming materials or quality concerns to the Quality Lead or Supervisor.
  • Complete inspection records and maintain accurate quality documentation.
  • Perform basic soldering, cable assembly, and minor rework when needed to support inspection activities.
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and quality standards with precision.
  • Support production by ensuring approved materials are available for manufacturing.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace using 5S principles.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Quality teams to resolve quality issues.
  • Continuously develop technical skills and contribute to a culture of quality and continuous improvement.

What We're Looking For

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience in electronics manufacturing, mechanical assembly, quality inspection, or a similar production environment is preferred-or a strong willingness to learn.
  • Ability to perform basic soldering and cable assembly; IPC certification is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
  • Ability to accurately follow written work instructions, inspection procedures, and engineering documentation.
  • Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Positive attitude, reliability, and a strong work ethic.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with drones, UAVs, or UAS platforms.
  • Experience inspecting printed circuit boards (PCBs), cable harnesses, or electronic assemblies.
  • IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, or related IPC certification.
  • Familiarity with quality inspection tools, measuring equipment, and basic electronic test equipment.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and move throughout the workday.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity and fine motor skills required for detailed inspection and assembly work.
  • Visual acuity sufficient to inspect small electronic and mechanical components.
  • Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and other industrial conditions.
