Duties:
Provide dialysis treatments as prescribed by physicians, ensuring patient safety and comfort. Administers prescribed medications while patients are on dialysis in a safe manner and documents in EHR according to state and CDC guidelines. Regularly check and record patients' vital signs before, during, and after dialysis sessions. Monitor for any adverse reactions and take appropriate action. Educate patients and their families about kidney disease, dialysis procedures, and lifestyle modifications to manage their condition.
Prepare and maintain dialysis machines and equipment, ensuring they are in proper working order and sterile. Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including treatment plans, progress notes, and any changes in condition. Coordinate with dietitians, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care tailored to each patient's needs. Offer emotional support to patients and their families, helping them cope with the challenges of chronic kidney disease.
Adhere to all safety regulations, infection control protocols, and healthcare standards, including those specific to the tribal community. This role is vital in ensuring that patients receive not only the medical care they need but also the cultural and emotional support that is essential for their overall well-being. Other duties as assigned to maintain and enhance the department.
Qualifications:
Associate degree in nursing with a current Registered Nurse license in the state of Wyoming. Licensed as a registered nurse in the State of Wyoming. One year of nursing experience in any field is preferred. Must have Basic Life Support Certification. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Required to possess a valid driver's license and be insurable under the Tribe's vehicle insurance plan.
Must be able to pass a criminal background check under the Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Act and the Wyoming DFS Central Registry.
