- Supervise public health nursing programs under the direction of the County Nurse Manager by collecting, analyzing, and utilizing data to evaluate program implementation and outcomes;
- Ensures high-quality patient care and adherence to policies, procedures, standards, and regulations;
- Provides direct patient care to public health clients in the home, office, and community setting;
- Provides leadership, training, and direct supervision of nursing staff;
- Plans, implements, and evaluates services based on community health needs;
- Assists County Nurse Manager with local nursing agency budget;
- Collaborates with local and state response coordinators for effective public health preparedness and response.
Preference will be given to applicants with work experience in public health nursing or similar nursing experience; with three years of professional work as a registered nurse; and with supervisory experience.
Must be licensed, or eligible for licensure, as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Wyoming
Must have an active driver's license
Must be able to travel throughout the State and to national conferences, if requested
Must be able to work evenings, nights, and/or weekends when the situation requires.
Knowledge of principles of nursing and management processes.
Knowledge of the medical diagnosis and treatment of patient care using nursing diagnosis.
Knowledge of organization, planning and team building.
Knowledge of principles and practices of public health nursing.
Knowledge of human service management to include supervisory techniques, methods and standards.
Bachelor's Degree (typically in Nursing)
1-2 years of progressive work experience (typically in Nursing) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Nurse
Must be licensed or eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Wyoming OR 4-6 years of progressive work experience (typically in Nursing) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Nurse
Must be able to:
- Lift/transfer patients to different positions.
- Lift medical/patient equipment of varying sizes and weights up to about 50 lbs.
- Restrain clients for treatments, climb stairs to patient homes, drive long distances.
- Travel throughout the state and to national conferences if requested.
- Work evenings, nights and /or weekends when the situation requires it.
