Job Summary
The Vendor Performance Consultant will be responsible for managing and optimizing the performance of our third‑party collection services, focusing on cost‑per‑unit efficiency and margin improvement. This role will own the account classification framework, drive the governance cadence, and work cross‑functionally with Site Operations, Commercial, and the vendor to execute optimization strategies. The ideal candidate will be highly analytical, adept at data visualization and reporting, and skilled in driving performance improvements through data‑driven insights.

ResponsibilitiesAccount & Vendor Performance Analysis
- Own and manage the account classification process based on cost per unit and volume per stop.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as cost per pickup, cost per unit, and service frequency to track vendor performance.
- Identify high‑cost outliers and accounts with low volume, and develop remediation or exit strategies.
- Analyze routing efficiency and service frequency to identify optimization opportunities.
Governance & Reporting
- Lead the monthly portfolio review process, presenting insights on account classification and movement to leadership.
- Develop and maintain Tableau dashboards for KPI reporting, performance monitoring, and trend analysis.
- Provide regular updates on the progress of optimization initiatives and their financial impact.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Site Operations to review and act on performance data and elevate high‑risk accounts.
- Collaborate with the Commercial/Marketing team to align on customer strategy and support expansion opportunities.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the vendor, providing performance feedback and ensuring alignment on service adjustments.
Strategic Initiatives
- Prioritize and drive optimization opportunities, particularly within accounts identified for improvement.
- Support the implementation of the phased roadmap, from building the foundation to expanding the program's visibility and scope.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by identifying and implementing best practices in vendor performance management.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Business, Finance, Supply Chain, Data Analytics) or equivalent work experience, preferred.
- 4-8 years of experience in data analysis, vendor management, or a related field, preferred.
- Proven experience in developing and managing performance metrics and KPIs preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and generate actionable insights preferred.
- Proficiency in data visualization tools, particularly Tableau, is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information to a variety of audiences preferred.
- Experience in a cross‑functional role, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively with different teams preferred.
- Applies comprehensive knowledge and a thorough understanding of concepts, principles, and technical capabilities to perform varied tasks and projects.
- May contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
- Works on complex projects of large scope.
- Develops technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.
- Solutions are innovative and consistent with organization objectives.
- Completes work; independently receives general guidance on new projects.
- Work reviewed for purpose of meeting objectives.
- May act as a mentor to less experienced colleagues.
