We are seeking an experienced Earthwork Superintendent to lead and manage field operations for site development, grading, and excavation projects. This role is responsible for overseeing daily earthwork activities, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, and to grade specifications and quality standards.
The Superintendent will work closely with the Project Manager to coordinate crews, equipment, and production while maintaining strict safety and operational efficiency on-site.## Qualifications
- Manage all earthwork operations, including clearing, grubbing, excavation, grading, and compaction - Oversee mass grading, rough grading, and fine grading to meet design elevations and tolerances - Supervise crews operating dozers, excavators, loaders, graders, rollers, and other heavy equipment - Read and interpret plans, blueprints, and grading stakes to ensure accurate site development - Coordinate daily work activities to meet production goals and project schedules - Monitor and maintain cut/fill balance and material quantities - Ensure proper soil compaction and moisture control to meet specifications - Maintain and enforce site safety standards (OSHA compliance) - Coordinate with surveyors, inspectors, subcontractors, and vendors - Conduct daily tailgate meetings and oversee crew performance - Identify and resolve field issues such as unsuitable soils, drainage problems, and site conditions - Track production, equipment usage, and report progress to management
Job Requirements - 7+ years of experience in earthwork, grading, or site development (Required) - Strong knowledge of mass grading, excavation, and soil stabilization - Experience operating or supervising heavy equipment used in earthmoving - Ability to read and interpret civil plans, grades, and elevations - Knowledge of GPS machine control and grade control systems (preferred) - Understanding of stormwater drainage and erosion control practices - Strong leadership and crew management skills - Ability to work in fast-paced outdoor environments and varying site conditions - OSHA 10 or 30-hour certification (preferred) - Valid driver’s license (Required) Job Details - Job Type: Full-time
