Job Description

This role is for Math Resource.

The Math Coach/Resource Teacher will maintain and monitor the implementation of the mathematics program, including professional development of school personnel. The Math Coach/Resource Teacher is responsible for ensuring the comprehensive instruction of mathematics standards within the school, as well as compliance with Full‑Time Equivalency (FTE) rules and guidelines from the Florida Department of Education and the United States Department of Education.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain and monitor implementation of the district’s Mathematics Program Guidelines and Procedures, inclusive of county and state guidelines and standards.
  • Assist with the implementation of district initiatives in the area of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).
  • Demonstrate a strong working knowledge of the Mathematics Florida Standards and best practices in mathematics instruction across content areas; continue to develop professional expertise through readings, trainings, and conferences.
  • Serve as a resource to the school for mathematics‑related strategies and materials to increase achievement.
  • Assist teachers in implementing standards across the STEM subject areas and in organizing classrooms and instructional focus for mathematics instruction.
  • Develop and conduct professional development for targeted audiences, including classroom teachers, on instructional strategies, best practices, use of materials, and specific instructional topics.
  • Model effective teaching techniques when presenting to groups and other professionals; provide follow‑up support to district and site‑based training.
  • Provide coaching to targeted audiences to improve mathematics instruction, classroom organization, and effective implementation of district‑provided resources.
  • Conduct classroom walk‑throughs and provide feedback to teachers.
  • Train and assist teachers in selection and use of a variety of assessment instruments; model and coach how to administer assessments and collect data.
  • Conduct data conferences with classroom teachers to interpret data and plan instruction, and assist teachers in using assessment data to plan appropriate instruction.
  • Provide small group instruction for selected students.
  • Assist with competitions.
  • Assist with textbook implementation.
  • Regularly collaborate with building administrators to discuss classroom practices and to provide support for mathematics instruction; provide ongoing feedback in partnership with the district mathematics supervisor.
  • Assist mathematics and content‑specific district supervisors in developing model lesson plans, curriculum, and assessments.
  • Promote parent and community outreach and involvement in the mathematics instructional program at the school.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Three years of increasingly responsible experience in classroom teaching, with two years of related management or supervisory experience required. Educational Leadership experience preferred.
  • Florida Professional Educator Certificate.
