The Teacher, Secondary Grades 9‑12, JROTC, is responsible for the instruction of designated Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (JROTC) content area(s)/course(s) in a classroom setting within a secondary school.

• Demonstrate regular and predictable attendance. Physical presence is expected as part of a reliable and predictable pattern of attendance.
• Support the district’s vision, mission, goals, and Strategic Plan.
• Engage in civility, respect, and professionalism.
• Maintain the professional knowledge and skills necessary to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the position.

• Design and implement appropriate instruction of content area(s)/course(s) assigned in accordance with state standards, district curriculum, and students’ needs.
• Create a positive educational climate for students to learn in an atmosphere of respect and rapport.
• Deliver relevant and rigorous lessons that maximize student engagement and achievement.
• Utilize a variety of teaching practices and methodologies that reflect diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds to meet individual student needs.
• Observe and evaluate student performance and mastery of standards, monitor student assessment data, and maintain student grades and attendance.
• Manage student behavior in the classroom by using effective classroom management strategies and invoking appropriate disciplinary procedures.
• Communicate with parents and school/district personnel regarding student progress and encourage parental involvement.
• Ensure health and safety of students, and protect equipment, materials, and facilities.
• Maintain and secure confidential records, inquiries, and data.
• Maintain appropriate certifications and professional development hours as required.
• Engage with local business and community stakeholders by maintaining a Program Advisory Board to collaborate with the CTE program.
• Participate in extracurricular JROTC activities.
• Engage in continuous improvement and professional development, including earning appropriate industry certifications.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.

• Letter of eligibility from commanding officer of the respective military branch stating eligibility for ROTC.

• Mathematical:
  Works with probability, statistics, geometry, trigonometry; applies fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
• Reasoning:
  Solves practical problems; interprets instructions in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule form.
• Computer:
  Proficient with Microsoft Office.
