POSITION TITLE:
REVENUE CYCLE ASSISTANT MANAGER
Job Summary:
A Revenue Cycle Assistant Manager is responsible for working under the supervision of the Revenue Cycle Manager to oversee the billing department and ensure the accurate and timely processing of invoices, payments, and financial records. This role involves managing the revenue cycle team, monitoring accounts receivable, resolving billing discrepancies, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory standards, as directed by the Manager.
The Revenue Cycle Assistant Manager may work closely with other departments, such as finance and customer service, to streamline revenue cycle operations, improve efficiency and compliance with company policies and regulatory standards, and optimize cash flow.
- Manage, mentor, and supervise the revenue cycle team, including hiring, training, and performance management, to ensure efficient and accurate revenue cycle operations.
- Assign tasks and set performance goals for team members, ensuring that workloads are balanced and objectives are met.
- Monitor the team s productivity and provide regular feedback to ensure high performance.
- Provide ongoing coaching and support to the revenue cycle staff to promote professional development and improve efficiency.
- Ensure the team adheres to accounting principles, SCHC policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee the daily operations of the revenue cycle department, ensuring accurate and timely invoicing, processing of payments, and resolution of any billing issues.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant revenue cycle regulations, standards, and company policies.
- Monitor accounts receivable to identify opportunities for improvement and effectively communicate with team members and other stakeholders.
- Ensure accurate record-keeping of invoices, payments, and financial documents.
- Perform regular audits of billing records to identify discrepancies and take corrective actions when necessary.
- Work with clients to resolve any billing disputes or discrepancies in a timely and professional manner.
- Ensure that the revenue cycle processes comply with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards (e.g., HIPAA for healthcare organizations).
- Stay up to date with changes in regulations and implement necessary updates to revenue cycle practices and policies.
- Oversee the use and management of billing software systems, ensuring they are up to date and functioning effectively.
- Collaborate with IT and finance teams to upgrade or integrate revenue cycle systems when needed.
- Monitor and manage collections to ensure timely receipt of payments and maintain positive cash flow.
- Develop strategies to minimize overdue accounts and implement effective collection procedures.

- Ability to use office equipment, including computers, copy machines, fax machines, telephones, calculators, and more.
- Basic knowledge of clerical and administrative procedures.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Bachelor s Degree in Business preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of healthcare experience required, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- In-depth knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance reimbursement, and HCHCP.
- Comprehensive understanding of accounts receivable, revenue cycle practices, regulations, and familiarity with CPT codes and ICD-10 coding.
